man what is this world......well the states coming to....

i sit down here in houston at the flying J and watch the news for like 5 min and what do i find out that there has been another school shooting in I think Minnisota or something like that...... man things just arnt like they used to be.......you get bullied and you cry about it and hide or beat the shit outta the guy or something......we never brought a gun to school intending to shoot down a bunch of students....that is just sad.....it only takes one person to listen to somebody......and show that they care.

i dunno that just blows my mind there is nothing else that i want to say.....people should take a step back and realise how much they inpact someones lives.......wow i am left speachless......

I couldn't believe it when I read it in the news today. It really scares me that it could be my son getting shot someday. Or even doing the shooting - who knows what triggers these kids. I can remember being in high school and feeling absolute hatred for someone, but killing them never crossed my mind. Never. It's just too scary that kids even have access to guns.

And here you've been updating and I've been missing you...

You wanna talk about messed up kids? W.R. Myers, the one Canadian school that had the shooting a week after columbine, well in the last week we had one student commit suicide, and another climb on top of the gym roof and threaten to jump off! Luckily we talked him down, but still. Since I've been working here there have been 6 suicide attempts among students. Its crazy. Something must be terribly wrong that these kids feel they have no other way out. Wed 23-Mar-2005 02:14

Maybe he had no more places to hide and no more tears to cry. But whatever his reason, of course it wasn't right or valid. Adding violence to violence only multiplies violence. We should be trying to figure how to stop it from happening again. But of course, we're too busy trying to decide when we feel it's ok for Terry Schiavo to die. Things are a little out of order. you know, in my day, we always said to the person that haunted us...Stick and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me...It truly concerns me that kids feel that their only recourse is absolute restitution. It is a sad world, and one that scares me... Miss you greatly, and wish you a very happy Easter all the same. love you son. Thu 24-Mar-2005 15:30

Part of the problem is that we have instant access to EVERYTHING around the world ALL THE TIME. Bad things have always happened, but communications weren't always what they are today. I could go on and on with countless examples, but anybody over thirty knows how much things have changed in the past decade or two. We, people, are compassionate and curious and voyeuristic. Our curiosity and voyeurism keeps us rivited to the breaking news, feeding the beast; and our compassion makes us care even when we can do not a single damn thing about it. Our real task is to raise our kids in this brave new age. Our compassion must be effective at home most of all. Thu 24-Mar-2005 16:59

it is a very different world that we live in now a days. I know how u feel, what are always so eager to solve our prblms with guns instead of talking it out! I wish the world would jus stop at times and ppl could see what they are doing to each other. It breaks my heart to hear things like that! Take care and have a good easter, hottie!
